Engaging and Entertaining Activities Seniors Would Love
At the Nineveh Senior Center, we provide our members with activities and meals they are sure to enjoy. We strive to create a place where seniors can build friendships and have fun. Some of our activities include line dancing, card games, ping pong, musical concerts, crafts, and bingo. If you want to support our cause, please do not hesitate to lend a helping hand.
There will be hand sanitizer and face masks available there for anyone to use. At this time there will be no snacks there but the Center will provide coffee for those who wish to drink coffee. If you want any other types of drinks please feel free to bring those. The rooms will be sanitized after each program for the safety of our members.
We will announce other activities that start up as they become available. Keep Checking back!
Weekly Activities
Monday:
- Shanghai 9:00 am to 11:30 am Coffee available, come and catch up with friends
- Ping Pong 9:30 am to 10:30 am
- Euchre 5:30 pm Cost $2 per person, coffee available
Tuesday:
- Chair Exercise Class 9:30 am - 10:30 am taught by Amy
Wednesday:
- Euchre 5:30 pm Cost $2 Coffee available
Thursday:
- Chair Exercise Class 9:30 am - 10:30 am taught by Amy
- Bid-Euchre 6:00 pm Cost: $2 - Coffee available and snacks are pitch-in
Monthly Activities
Every 1st Monday of the month:
- Luncheon at 11:30 am provided by Johnson County Senior Services and Astral of Franklin
- Bingo at 1:00 pm provided by Home Instead of Greenwood
Every 1st Tuesday of the month:
- Computer Class 6:00 pm taught by LaDonna Elmore of Nineveh Christian Church
Every 2nd Friday of the month:
- Pitch-in Luncheon and member's meeting
- Cell Phone Class provided by Independence Home Health 11:30 am -12 pm
- Pitch-in Luncheon 12:00-1:00 pm
- Johnson County Book Mobile will be coming to our center from 1:00 -2:00; this is open to the public. You will be able to check out books, movies, or games. You just need to be a Johnson County resident and have a valid library card.
- Business Meeting 1:00 pm
Cupcakes or cake are provided for our members to celebrate those who have birthdays that month!
Blood pressure checks are available and provided by local business.
A door prize drawing is provided by the various community businesses. We even have guest speakers on a wide range of topics! Stop by and see who we have speaking!
Every 3rd Monday of the month:
- Pizza Party 11:30 am - provided by Compass Parke
- Bingo 1:00 to 3:00; sponsored by Main Street Hospice - win prizes; coffee provided
Every 3rd Friday of the month:
- Food Box Program 9:00 am - 11:00 am You must be a resident of Johnson County, 60 or older, and low income to participate, call 317-739-9999 to schedule an appointment to be qualified.
Every 4th Wednesday of the month:
- Craft Class 3:00 - 4:00
- Dinner 4:00 - 5:00 provided by Church of the Lakes
